Our self-catering holiday home offers all the luxury you need for a perfect holiday with family and friends. The house has more than enough space for 8 guests.
It's the ultimate escape, a home away from home where you can unwind and enjoy a perfect holiday in the bush. Animals roam freely around the house and Kruger National Park is just around the corner.
There are 4 bedrooms with 2 beds each. The 2 large bedrooms upstairs both have an en-suite bathroom. The 2 smaller bedrooms downstairs have a bathroom to share.
In the house you'll find an open plan kitchen with a large refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, microwave and 5 burner gas stove. Next you will find the utility room with washing machine and dryer available for our guests to use. There also are a dining area and a living room with television (bring your own device to connect).
African bush life is all about outdoor living. On our beautiful roofed patio you will find an outdoor kitchen with a built-in braai, dining table and a large lounge area. Here you can sit and relax and enjoy the sounds of the bush.
Cool off in the splash pool where our house hippo Bella likes to keep you company. And maybe the kudus or the giraffe will come and take a look at you while you relax on the patio.
The cherry on the cake is our rooftop terrace where in the evening you can sit and enjoy the sunset. We can say we have the best view from Marloth Park. You can see Kruger and the mountains. Watching the sun set in the Kruger Park from your own rooftop terrace is ultimate happiness.

Jackals Dream is located in Marloth Park. Marloth Park is a nature reserve directly adjacent to the Kruger National Park. We are separated from Kruger Park only by the Crocodile River and a fence. Marloth Park is home to many wild animals such as zebra, kudus, wildebeast, giraffe, impala, mongoose, warthog and bush baby. During the day, the park is perfect for riverside walks or bush exploration.
SOUTH AFRICA
Millions of tourists find their way to South Africa every year. Almost obvious we might say, because South Africa has lots to offer. You can enjoy the hospitality, rich culture, the wine region, the Garden Route, Panorama Route and of course the wildlife parks such as our backyard: the Kruger Park. In South Africa you can easily travel around on your own in a (rental) car or go on a (partially) organized trip.

Of course you will visit the Kruger National Park when you stay in our house. Here you will find a lot of wildlife, of course the big five and the small five. You can enter the park independently or join an organized game drive. Various tours can be booked from Marloth Park. Crocodile Bridge Gate is about 20 minutes from Jackals Dream.

We had a wonderful stay at Jackals Dream. The house had everything we needed and thankfully every room was equipped with an aircon as it was extremely hot. Animals walked freely and we loved taking a walk to the Kruger’s fence where elephants, hippos and buffalo gave a beautiful show.

This is our garden. It is not the standard landscaped garden you can find in other towns. Some visitors think we don’t give our garden the love and attention it should have. But actually we do as Marloth Park is a nature conservancy we respect. For us this means we try our best to restore and preserve the original state of this unique place which begins in our own backyard. The biggest part of our land is for the animals and the plants that belong here. We leave the fallen leaves lying on the ground to preserve nutrients and prevent evaporation, we take away alien (invasive) plants and we give space to plants that belong here. Well it kept knocking on the front door for quite a while when Jackals Dream was finished, as he still wanted to come in and sleep inside. No wildlife, not a nice image of how great Jackals Dream looks that makes you dream about a perfect holiday in the bush, but it shows our… (drums please!): inverter!! I added sparkles to make it more attractive. Did it work? The caption could have been simple actually: Jackals Dream has an inverter to ease the (dark) hours of loadshedding! When the power shuts down the batteries take over so the lights and fans will stay on.
